YARNTON PLAYING FIELDS - WANTED

You may or may not know but YPF are trying to replace the old dilapidated changing room building at the Littlemarsh field, anyone who has seen this building lately will know that this need is now urgent.
Three years ago we obtained CDC planning permission, plans were drawn up and an application submitted to the Big Lottery Grant to fund this project, unfortunately we were not successful in our application.
Since this time various ideas, discussions & visits from various companies / tradesmen has happened but the project has not progressed.
One reason that a new building has not been delivered as yet is the lack of people to tackle the problem, since the Lottery application several committee members have moved on, currently only five people are now on the committee, not enough really to complete the normal day to day needs of YPF let alone this issue.
At present we are in need of 2/3 people or more to form a “sub-committee” to deal totally with this project or to help out the committee so present members could be released to concentrate on the new building, we are also in need of an architect to advise and redraw plans for our current designs.
Once the two needs above are addressed we would then be looking at building stage hopefully and would be looking at local tradesmen to be involved.
We have said from the outset that we would prefer to “employ” people from within the village or people involved with the Yarnton sports organisations to complete this building, we are now asking for help to re-kick start this project.
