Proposed Apple Orchard

The Parish Council is exploring the idea of a Yarnton village apple orchard on two of the three community grassed areas between The Paddocks and the bridge leading to Bernard Close.  The aim is to bring back some Oxfordshire heritage variety apple trees which have been lost to this area, provide free apples for Yarnton villagers, encourage wildlife conservation and provide a tranquil area to rest for a while and enjoy the sunshine. We would welcome residents’ observations regarding the proposal which can be sent by email to [email protected] or in writing to Yarnton Parish Council, Yarnton Village Hall, The Paddocks, Yarnton, OX5 1TE.  If any village organisations or individuals would be interested in sponsoring a tree please let us know as soon as possible. We are on a time limit as preferably the trees need to be planted by late April for this year. It's an exciting project which would enhance this area of the village and help foster a community spirit for all ages.
